Exhibitions at Moshi: getting stall graphics right
The Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre at Moshi is run by PMRDA and hosts a steady series of trade shows on its open exhibition ground, from fastener and machine tool shows to agriculture and consumer expos. Exhibitors from PCMC and Chakan often book a shell-scheme stall and then need the graphics in a hurry once the organiser sends the manual.
A few things decide whether the stall looks finished on day one:
- Use the organiser’s panel sizes, not the stall size. A 3×3 metre shell stall is made of panels with frames that eat into the visible area. The exhibitor manual gives the printable dimensions.
- Ask about fixing. Some shows allow pasting vinyl on panels, others want flex fitted into frames or hung, and some only allow work at fixed build-up hours.
- Keep text high. Anything below waist height is hidden by tables, visitors and brochure racks.
- Bring a standee. A roll-up standee is the one item you can carry to the next show unchanged.
Shops in Pimpri market
Pimpri’s market lanes are packed with frontages of almost identical width, and a new board has to stand out from its neighbours rather than from an empty wall. A strong single colour, the trade written as clearly as the name (for example “Saree Centre” or “Mobile Repair”) and a printed shutter sticker that keeps advertising after closing time do more than an expensive material choice. Sale banners for Diwali and wedding season work best in one standard size so the same hooks get reused each time.
Mandals and societies in Chinchwad, Nigdi and Akurdi
Ganeshotsav in PCMC is big, and mandal committees here order backdrops, gate arches, sponsor boards and welcome flex. Large backdrops for a pandal are usually printed in one piece if the size allows, or in panels that join behind a frame. Tell us the frame size and whether the backdrop sits indoors or open to the rain, because the finishing changes for each.
PCMC rules on outdoor banners
PCMC regulates hoardings and banners in its own limits and runs drives against unauthorised flex, especially around festivals and elections. If a banner is going on a road, a junction or a public pole, check with the PCMC ward office first. Inside a shop, society or private compound the question is usually just the owner’s permission.
