In Pune, the flex printing rate is quoted per square foot (sq ft): width in feet × height in feet × the rate for the material. Normal flex sits at the bottom of the scale, star flex and backlit flex cost more, and self-adhesive vinyl costs more again. Finishing, design, delivery, fixing and GST are added on top, so two quotes for the same size can differ for good reasons.
This guide explains how the maths works, what changes the price, and what rates public Pune listings were showing in October 2026. Use the calculator below the article to work out your square feet, and get the exact price for your job on WhatsApp.
How flex printing price per sq ft is calculated
Every large-format job starts with area. Measure the finished size in feet, multiply width by height, and you have square feet. If your size is in inches, multiply the two numbers and divide by 144 (because one square foot is 12 × 12 inches).
| Size | Working | Area |
|---|---|---|
| 3 × 2 ft (small shop or counter banner) | 3 × 2 | 6 sq ft |
| 6 × 3 ft (standard event banner) | 6 × 3 | 18 sq ft |
| 8 × 4 ft (stage side or gate banner) | 8 × 4 | 32 sq ft |
| 10 × 4 ft (shop board) | 10 × 4 | 40 sq ft |
| 12 × 8 ft (stage backdrop) | 12 × 8 | 96 sq ft |
| 20 × 10 ft (small hoarding) | 20 × 10 | 200 sq ft |
| 40 × 20 ft (large hoarding) | 40 × 20 | 800 sq ft |
| 36 × 24 in (poster-size vinyl) | 36 × 24 ÷ 144 | 6 sq ft |
| 48 × 18 in (window strip) | 48 × 18 ÷ 144 | 6 sq ft |
Then multiply the area by the rate for the material. As an illustration only: if a listing shows star flex at ₹20 per sq ft, a 10 × 4 ft board would be 40 × 20 = ₹800 for the print, before finishing, delivery and GST. That number is an example of the maths, not our rate.
Measure the finished size, not the frame opening. If the flex wraps around a frame, add a few inches on each side for the fold.
Typical flex and vinyl rates seen on Pune listings, Oct 2026
The table below collects ranges that Pune sellers publish on their own sites and on directories such as IndiaMART. These are market indications from public listings, not 3 Red Media’s rate card. Listings are self-reported, often exclude GST, may carry minimum order quantities and can be out of date. Your exact price comes on WhatsApp once we know the size, material and finishing.
| Material | Range seen on Pune listings | Notes on the listings |
|---|---|---|
| Normal / frontlit flex (220–280 GSM) | ₹4–10 per sq ft | Directory floor prices; often for bulk quantities |
| Star flex | ₹13–35 per sq ft | Premium frontlit; wide spread between sellers |
| Backlit flex | From about ₹6 per sq ft on directories; ₹14–25 on one national site | For glow sign boxes |
| Eco-solvent vinyl print | ₹15–100 per sq ft; most ₹20–45 | Print only, without lamination |
| Vinyl with matt or gloss lamination | ₹35–120 per sq ft | Range from one listed seller |
| Vinyl on 3–5 mm sunboard | ₹60–85 per sq ft (one listing ₹120) | Rigid, for indoor boards and standees |
| One-way vision film | ₹30–120 per sq ft; most ₹45–80 | Some sellers add a minimum order value |
| Frosted glass film | ₹20 to ₹80–220 per sq ft | Low end is plain film; high end is cut or printed and fixed |
| Wall graphics / wallpaper | About ₹80 per sq ft | Single listing |
| Canvas print | About ₹150 per sq ft | Single listing; frames extra |
| Roll-up standee (3 × 6 / 3 × 7 ft, with stand) | ₹1,100–1,200 per piece | Priced per piece, not per sq ft |
Why such wide ranges? Some listings are roll prices for hundreds of square feet, some are for a single banner, and some include lamination or fixing while others do not. A very low per sq ft number usually comes with a large minimum quantity.
What changes the flex printing rate in Pune
1. Material
Material is the biggest factor. Normal flex is thin and fine for a week-long sale banner. Star flex is smoother and holds colour better for boards that stay up for months. Backlit flex is built to let light through evenly. Vinyl is a different product altogether, and our flex vs vinyl comparison explains when it is worth paying for.
2. Quantity and size
Larger jobs and repeat quantities usually work out cheaper per sq ft, because setup and handling are shared across more material. A single small banner carries the same setup effort as a big one, which is why many printers have a minimum charge for very small jobs.
3. Finishing
Eyelets, stitched or welded pockets for poles, rope along the edges, lamination, and framing or mounting on board all add to the price. They also decide whether the banner survives the job. A road banner without enough eyelets can tear in the first monsoon wind.
| Finishing | When you need it |
|---|---|
| Eyelets | Tying banners to poles, railings or frames |
| Pockets | Sliding a pipe or bamboo through top and bottom |
| Rope or reinforced edges | Large outdoor banners in wind |
| Lamination | Vinyl that will be touched, cleaned or face strong sun |
| Framing / mounting | Shop boards and rigid displays |
4. Design
If you send a print-ready file, there is nothing to add. If you need text and a logo set into a layout, or a full design made, that time is part of the price. Our guide to sending artwork helps you avoid paying for fixes.
5. Delivery and installation
If you collect from our Chandni Chowk unit, there is no delivery to pay for. Delivery depends on distance, and fixing at height (a hoarding frame, a shop front above the shutter) needs people and sometimes a ladder or scaffolding. Installation can be arranged and is quoted separately.
6. Urgency
A rush job may need to jump a queue. Urgent jobs are possible depending on size and what is already being printed, and the ready time is confirmed on WhatsApp.
7. GST
Most public listings quote rates before GST, which is commonly 18% on printing services like these. When comparing quotes, ask each printer whether GST is included, so you are comparing like with like.
Rates for other large-format jobs
Not everything is sold per sq ft. Some products are priced per piece because the hardware matters more than the print.
- Glow sign boards: the backlit flex is per sq ft, but the frame, lights and wiring add a fixed cost that depends on the box size. Ask whether a quote is for the print only or the complete box.
- Roll-up standees: usually one price per piece, including the stand and the print.
- Sunboard prints: per sq ft, with the board thickness (3 mm or 5 mm) changing the rate. Cut-to-shape standees cost more than plain rectangles.
- Hoardings: per sq ft for the flex, with large areas often working out cheaper per sq ft; fixing to the frame is a separate job.
- Vinyl on glass: per sq ft, but the time to apply it on site often matters more than the material on small jobs.
How to compare two quotes fairly
Before choosing on price alone, line up the quotes and check that they describe the same job. A cheaper number often turns out to be a thinner material or a quote without finishing.
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Material named (normal, star, backlit, vinyl) | The biggest single price factor |
| Finished size and total sq ft | Some quotes round up sizes, some do not |
| Finishing included | Eyelets, pockets and framing can be extra |
| Design charge | Free in one quote, separate in another |
| Delivery and fixing | Often left out of the headline rate |
| GST | Included or extra changes the total by a lot |
| Ready time | A cheaper quote may not meet your date |
In Pune, demand also rises before Ganeshotsav, Navratri, Diwali and election periods, when many printers are busy at once. Ordering a few days early in those weeks gives you more room to check the proof without a rush.
How to get an accurate price quickly
- Give the finished size of every piece in feet or inches.
- Say where it will be used: indoor, outdoor, lit from behind, on glass or on a wall.
- Mention how it will be fixed, so finishing is quoted correctly.
- Share your deadline and delivery area.
- Attach your design, or tell us you need one made.
Send these on WhatsApp or through our quote form. We reply with the price and a digital proof, and nothing is printed until you approve it. To estimate your area first, use the calculator below.
