One way vision for glass door applications uses perforated self-adhesive vinyl, printed on one side and applied to suitable glass. The film can show the print from outside while allowing a view through from inside, depending on which side is brighter. Door movement, hand contact and visibility all affect how the design should be laid out.
At 3 Red Media, we print the film and share a digital proof for approval before printing. Our print unit is at Chandni Chowk, Pune, and we deliver across Pune and PCMC, with courier dispatch elsewhere in India and the courier charge added to the quote.
Can one way vision go on a glass door?
It can suit a glass door when the glass is smooth, clean and suitable for self-adhesive film. The see-through effect depends on light: when it is brighter outside than inside, the printed side is generally more visible from outside. At night, if the interior is brighter, people outside may see in more easily, so do not treat the film as guaranteed privacy.
A door is different from a fixed shop window because it moves and people touch it. A full-height graphic can also make a door harder to notice. Plan clear areas for visibility and confirm that the door glass and its use are appropriate before ordering. For more about the print itself, see one way vision printing in Pune.

Hinged, sliding and frameless doors: what changes
On a hinged door, the film moves with the door leaf. Leave space around the handle, hinges and edges so the film does not foul fittings or get caught during use. On a sliding door, check the moving panel, overlap and track area. The artwork should fit the actual glass panel rather than the full opening.
Frameless doors need careful measurement because the glass edge and fittings are exposed. Film should stop short of edges and hardware, with enough margin to avoid rubbing. A photo of the full door, including its handle and frame, helps us understand the layout before preparing a proof.
| Door type | Points to check |
|---|---|
| Hinged | Handle, hinges, swing and edge clearance |
| Sliding | Moving panel, overlap and track clearance |
| Frameless | Exposed glass edges and fittings |
Safety bands so people see the door
A clear band at eye level can help people recognise the glass as a door, while leaving parts of the film-free. The exact height and placement depend on the door, users and site conditions. Consider a visible band on both sides if people approach from either direction, and check that the chosen layout does not hide important sightlines.
If you want a separate visibility treatment, see glass manifestation printing options. Permission or safety requirements can depend on the building and location, so check with the property manager and relevant authority. For local permissions, check with your ward office.

Margins around handles, hinges and edges
Measure the glass only, edge to edge, in feet and inches. Note the visible glass width and height, then mark where the handle, hinges, locks, frame, seals and other fittings sit. Do not include the frame in the glass dimensions. Share a straight-on photo with the measurements so the artwork can leave practical margins.
Avoid placing small text, important details or key parts of a logo close to the edges or under fittings. The perforations in one way vision film affect how fine details appear, so keep essential information clear and legible in the proof. If a layout needs areas with a different appearance, compare it with one way vision and frosted film.
Cleaning and wear where hands touch the film
Frequent contact near a handle can mark or wear the film sooner than areas people do not touch. Keep printed content away from that contact zone where possible, and allow a clear margin around the handle. Edges and corners also need care because repeated rubbing or snagging can lift film.
Clean the glass before application and follow the care guidance provided for the film. For routine cleaning, use a soft cloth and avoid scraping or abrasive pads over the printed surface. The life of the film depends on handling, exposure, cleaning and site conditions, so we do not promise a fixed lifespan.
How to order one way vision for a glass door
Send the glass measurements in feet and inches, a straight-on photo, the door type and your design through our quote form. Mention the handle, hinges, direction of approach and any clear safety bands you want. We will quote based on the details supplied and share a digital proof.
Check the proof for the overall size, margins, fittings and visibility before approving it. We print only after your approval. If the job needs installation, send the size and site details so we can tell you whether it can be arranged.
