Anti skid floor stickers are printed floor graphics covered with a textured surface layer intended to provide more grip than a standard smooth finish. Their performance depends on the laminate, the floor surface, moisture, footwear and cleaning, so the word “anti-skid” should not be treated as a guarantee against slips.
For a shop, clinic, gym or office, first consider where people walk and what reaches the floor. We print floor graphics to the supplied size, prepare a digital proof for approval, and print only after approval. 3 Red Media prints at Chandni Chowk, Pune, and can arrange installation when you send the size.

What are anti-skid floor stickers?
They are floor graphics made from printed vinyl with a textured laminate on top. The laminate protects the printed face and gives the surface a texture different from a regular glossy laminate. The product is still a sticker, so its hold depends on the floor being clean, dry and suitable for the adhesive.
People use floor graphics for wayfinding, queue markers, promotional messages and directional arrows. A graphic near an entrance may face dust and water brought in during Pune’s monsoon from June to September. For layout and placement ideas, see our floor graphics in Pune page.
How does anti-skid laminate work on floor graphics?
The printed vinyl carries the image, while a textured laminate covers it. Texture can help provide a less slippery feel underfoot than a smooth gloss surface, but it does not make every floor safe in every condition. Ask what surface finish is being used and confirm it is intended for floor graphics.

Do not use a normal glossy laminate on a floor graphic. It is designed to give a smooth finish and is not a substitute for a floor-rated textured laminate. A suitable laminate also needs to be applied properly, with edges pressed down and no trapped dirt or bubbles that could catch a shoe.

Are all floor stickers slip resistant?
No. A printed vinyl sticker is not automatically slip resistant, and the printed design does not determine grip. The surface layer matters, and even a textured product can become slippery if it is wet, greasy, dusty or worn.
Check the product description and ask for the intended use before ordering. If the graphic is for a hospital corridor, gym floor or busy entrance, share those details and the cleaning routine when requesting a quote. You can also review hospital signage printing and gym branding printing for related signage applications.

What floors are too smooth or too wet for floor stickers?
A dusty, oily, damp or uneven floor can stop the adhesive from making proper contact. Some very smooth surfaces may also need a small adhesion test before a full order. Avoid placing a graphic where water regularly pools, where cleaning leaves residue, or where the floor is likely to stay wet.
West-facing glass can take harsh afternoon sun, but floor stickers are affected more directly by foot traffic, heat at the floor and cleaning. Avoid placing graphics across joints, cracks or loose floor coatings. If the location is exposed to rainwater or frequent spills, treat it as a higher-care area and discuss another placement if needed.
| Floor condition | What to consider |
|---|---|
| Clean, dry, smooth and sound | A sample can help check adhesion and surface feel. |
| Dusty, oily or damp | Clean and dry the floor first; these conditions can affect adhesion. |
| Uneven, cracked or flaking | The sticker may not sit flat or hold reliably. |
| Frequently wet or greasy | Slip risk remains; consider another position or floor treatment. |
How are anti-skid floor stickers cleaned?
Follow the care advice for the laminate and the floor. In general, remove loose dust first and clean with a soft mop or cloth using a mild cleaner compatible with the surface. Do not scrub with an abrasive pad or use strong chemicals unless the product supplier confirms they are suitable.
Dry the area after cleaning and check the edges. If an edge lifts, the surface becomes smooth from wear, or dirt collects around the graphic, stop using that piece and reassess it. Do not assume a graphic remains suitable just because it looked grippy when first installed.
For broader material choices and print options, see vinyl printing in Pune. Send the floor type, graphic size and a photo of the location with your artwork. Our artwork preparation guide explains what to share for a clean proof.
How do I test a floor sticker before a full order?
Ask for a small sample using the same vinyl and textured laminate planned for the full graphic. Apply it to a cleaned, fully dry patch of the actual floor, following the application instructions. Let it settle, then check the edges, surface feel and whether it shifts under normal foot traffic.
Test the sample in the conditions it will face, including the usual footwear and cleaning routine. Keep people away if the sample lifts, curls or feels slippery when damp. A sample gives useful information about that particular spot, but it cannot guarantee performance across different floors or changing conditions.
When you send a size, include the floor material, whether the area gets wet, expected foot traffic and cleaning method. We can prepare a digital proof for your approval before printing. Share these details through the quote form so the print and finish can be discussed against the intended location.
