A shop opening checklist helps you decide what to print before customers arrive: the main board, entrance glass graphics, launch promotion and useful signs inside. Begin with the information people need to recognise the shop and enter; then add optional displays as the space and budget allow.
For a new shop branding checklist, measure the available surfaces and list the wording before preparing artwork. We print vinyl graphics and flex banners, and share a digital proof for approval before anything goes to print. For fabrication, electrical work or installation, it can be arranged, ask when you send the size.

What does a new shop need printed before opening?
Start with the main board, then the entrance glass. These are the first things a passer-by sees, and they should identify the business and make the entrance easy to understand. If you are choosing formats and materials, see our shop branding printing in Pune guide.
Before ordering, write down the exact shop name, logo, opening date, business hours and any essential customer information. Confirm spellings and spelling in Marathi, if included, with the shop owner. Keep a little space around text and logos so the design stays readable from the road.
Make a simple surface list: frontage, glass door or window, indoor wall, counter and any display frame. Note each width and height in feet and inches, along with whether the surface is glass, wall, board or frame. That list helps match each design to a suitable print and gives us the measurements needed to prepare a quote.
What goes on the main shop board and glass?
Put the shop name and recognisable logo on the main board. Add a short description only if customers might not know what the shop sells. For a board project, review the options in our sign board printing guide. If the plan includes fabrication or fitting, ask when sending the size so we can check what can be arranged.

For a shop name board in Maharashtra, check the current rule: the name is required in Marathi using Devanagari, and its lettering must not be smaller than the other scripts on the board. Confirm the current requirement with the relevant authority before finalising the layout.
Use the glass for practical details such as business hours, a logo or a short entrance message. Frosted film can provide some privacy while still allowing daylight into the shop. Coloured cut vinyl works for lettering made from coloured film rather than printed artwork; see our vinyl lettering options. Only include contact information you are comfortable displaying in public.

Which opening banners and offers should I print?
An opening banner can announce the date, a launch offer or the arrival of the shop. Keep the message short enough to read while walking or passing by, and make the offer terms clear. A printed panel on a window or wall may suit a smaller frontage better than a banner.
Choose a banner size based on the place it will hang and how customers will see it. Flex is a PVC banner sheet that can hang or stretch across a frame. If it will be outdoors, consider Pune’s monsoon period, roughly June to September, when rain and wind can affect how a banner is displayed. Outdoor hoardings and banners may need PMC or PCMC permission, so check with your ward office and the relevant civic authority before putting one up.
You can also use vinyl for offer panels on glass or a smooth board. Printed vinyl for outdoor display is normally laminated; discuss where it will be used so the print can be specified for that setting. We print from supplied sizes and artwork, then send a digital proof for your approval before printing.

What in-store signs guide customers?
Inside, prioritise signs that answer common questions or help people move through the shop. Depending on the business, these might include a price board, category labels, a counter sign, direction arrows or a notice about how to place an order. Print only the messages that will be useful on opening day.
Vinyl lettering can label shelves, doors and counters; printed vinyl can carry a full-colour graphic on a suitable smooth surface. A floor graphic may help mark a queue or point towards a counter, but consider the floor finish and foot traffic before choosing one. | Print item | What to prepare | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Main shop board | Shop name, logo, measured frontage | Before opening |
| Door or window graphics | Hours, logo, entrance message | Before opening |
| Opening banner or offer panel | Short offer text, dates, display location | For launch |
| Indoor signs | Prices, categories or directions | Essential ones first |
| Extra wall graphics | Artwork and wall measurements | Can follow later |
Which prints can wait until after opening?
Large decorative wall graphics, extra promotional panels and detailed floor graphics can often follow once you have seen how customers use the space. Opening with clear identification and essential information matters more than filling every available wall. Keep the artwork and measurements for later additions so repeat designs can follow the same style.
If the shop is still being painted or fitted, wait to measure until the surface is ready and accessible. A fresh measurement reduces the chance of artwork being prepared for the wrong usable area. For each item, note whether the artwork is final, still being designed or needs wording checked.
How do I order everything in the right order?
First, confirm the final shop name, logo files and any Marathi wording. Next, measure each surface in feet and inches, and take a clear photo showing the full area and nearby edges. Share the artwork if ready; if you need help preparing files, see how to send artwork for printing.
Group the request by item and include the intended location, dimensions, material preference if known, and whether each print is indoor or outdoor. We use the details to quote the job and prepare a digital proof. Check the proof for names, dates, offer wording, sizes and placement before approving it.
